Hi ! Thanks! He is on Lexipro for depression, I am not sure if it has kicked in yet. He does get Zometa infusion every few weeks. And he is realizing he needs to do more walking. We have a treadmill fortunately. He has not used it that much. Looking into PT next week. Earlier, an ortho doc looked at everything and said he thinks he has a separate issue, stenosis of the spine as well, so he got a shot Thursday. It may or may not work, it is worth a try. However he is dizzy, which is scary for maintaining his balance walking. Dr. Hemo says it is due to BP rx. DR.Heart dr says it is the rx from chemo. So he is off BP now. Time will tell. He was 185, in June. Claimed to be 5'10", not :) Maybe at one time he was. He was measured at 5'3" recent month and 156 and seems to be holding now. No muscles. It seems the doc says eat whatever he wants, which is not much as his taste buds have changed, also, paying attention to heart healthy as well. We are working on eating more meals during the day too. We have Boost, however that has lots of sugar, sugar feeds cancer. So, all in moderation.
I read dizziness can be from low red blood cells. Of course I read that after the dr appt. yesterday. So, looking at the blood test results, that is below normal. Not all tests from before were run, so I cannot compare some of the ones I understand are important. We were told he is responding well...I may contact the doc at the MM cancer center in Balto, MD and see what they say. I am getting familiar with some of the blood test names. Just not sure which ones are the ones to be focusing on.
Also, nutritionally, healthy eating is what we do, and now I will check to see what in particular is good for increasing red blood cells. It is a balancing act here. I am sure for all of us.
Re: sleep - I have started reading to my husband, which relaxes him. Reading in the morning often, and evening. He has become very sensitive to what is on t.v. avoiding shows with violence, news...so, Hallmark works at times. He naps as well.
To get him out of our home, I started taking him on rides in the morning after breakfast. He is not driving since he has the dizziness. (Dizziness seems to be going on too long. Months.). He agreed to go to the local restaruant/bar with our neighbors/friends again,. I suppose that is part of the depression. He has shrunk, lost weight and personality has changed. He is getting used to it. No energy, we did stay for less than 2 hours, which allowed others to visit with him, and to stay within view of each other, comfort for him.
He gets nervous/anxious if I leave for errands. We are working it out..Whew...he is napping, I am sitting next to him.. This gave me time to share. Thanks for being there. Has anyone had such dizziness? I appreciate you all! Blessings to you all!
